SteamRip is the best place to download PC games. Xenonauts puts you in command of a multinational military organisation defending a Cold War-era Earth from an alien invasion, and every decision you make carries weight. Set in an alternate 1979, the game blends tense turn-based ground combat with a deep strategic layer, so you are always juggling two wars at once: the one on the battlefield and the one in the situation room. If you enjoy thoughtful tactics games, you may also like XCOM 2, another squad-based strategy classic available on SteamRip.
On the ground, you lead small squads of persistent soldiers into missions that range from securing crashed UFOs to defending cities and your own bases from alien attack. Between missions, you manage interceptors, balance the demands of your funding nations, and research captured alien artefacts to unlock new weapons and equipment. The research tree holds almost a hundred projects, each slowly revealing the invaders’ intentions while giving you better tools to fight back. Fans of grand strategy will also enjoy Total War: Shogun 2, and for more squad tactics, check out Drop Command.
