SteamRip is the best place to download PC games. Volkolak: The Will of Gods is a 2D Soulslike Metroidvania set in a dark Slavic fantasy world. In the Far-away State, a vast medieval land of dungeons, dark forests, and stinking swamps, the curse of the necromancer Koschei the Immortal has driven the inhabitants mad — and it falls to you to fight through his minions with a deep, deliberate combat system.
The heart of the game is transformation. As a Volkolak you can shift into werewolf form, gaining new abilities through the altars of pagan gods, while in human form you fight with a wide arsenal of weapons. Three classes offer three different journeys — the bloodthirsty ghoul, the magic-wielding Volkolak, or the seasoned Veteran — each with its own locations, NPCs, story beats, and ending. Fans of dark, demanding 2D action will also enjoy Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, another gothic hunt through cursed lands.
Gameplay Features
- Classic Metroidvania structure with side-scrolling 2D action and frame-by-frame animation in a dark style.
- Transform into a werewolf to unlock new abilities through the altars of pagan gods.
- Choose one of three classes — Cursed ghoul, Volkolak mage, or Veteran warrior — each with unique locations, NPCs, and endings.
- Explore a vast interconnected world inspired by Slavic mythology: the dungeons of Tsargrad, the Dark Forest, and the Stinking Swamp.
- Meet mythical creatures from folk tales — Leshy, Serpent, Baba Yaga, Koschey the Immortal, the Firebird, and many more.
- Over 50 unique enemies and 10 mythical bosses in epic battles where you can call on the power of ancient gods or your sacred faith.
If Volkolak’s dark fairy tale grips you, Mina the Hollower and Tormented Souls 2 offer more gothic worlds full of secrets and danger. More free PC games are waiting on SteamRip.
