Onimusha: Way of the Sword is a brand-new entry in Capcom’s legendary Onimusha series. You take on the role of Miyamoto Musashi, an ardent young samurai modeled after the iconic samurai film star Toshiro Mifune, who arrives in Edo-period Kyoto to prove he is unmatched with the blade. The historic capital is twisted by malevolent clouds of Malice, and monstrosities from the underworld known as Genma stalk its streets. Armed with the mystical Oni Gauntlet, Musashi cuts through bloodstained battlefields, absorbing Genma souls to grow stronger while searching for his reason to fight. Action fans who enjoy high-stakes combat adventures like 007 First Light will find the gritty swordplay familiar, while the dark-fantasy underworld horror echoes the tone of titles such as Curse of Resthaven.
Every stage of Kyoto — from Kiyomizu-dera Temple to countless shrines turned eerie by Malice — is cloaked in mystery and danger. The Oni Gauntlet grants power beyond human limits, and its secrets unfold as Musashi faces formidable foes whose martial skill rivals his own in duels to the death. With DLSS 4.5 and FSR 3.1 super-resolution support, the blood-soaked brawls look as sharp as they play.
